”It feels fantastic to get to work in such a super professional environment and get to come to one of Sweden's absolute biggest clubs. The team has been in a tougher period during the spring, but that's how it works and you can't always be at the top of a series”, says Wettergren in a press release.

In 2016-2023, Wettergren was assistant to Janne Andersson in the men's national team. Prior to that, he and Magnus Haglund led Elfsborg to two Swedish championship gold medals.

Since the end of 2023, he has worked as technical director at the Swedish Football Association.

Now Wettergren will support MFF's head coach Henrik Rydström after a tough season start.

The reigning championship team is in fifth place in Allsvenskan. In the spring, they also lost to Häcken in the final of the Swedish Cup.

”Peter possesses an experience and knowledge that is at the absolute top level. His leadership and clarity are a contributing reason why we recruit him”, says Ola Toivonen, assistant sports manager.
