The USA is ready to support Israel's defense. This is stated by the country's defense headquarters Pentagon after reports of large-scale attacks between Israel and Iran-backed Hezbollah.
"We continue to closely monitor the situation and have been very clear that the USA is prepared to support Israel's defense," says a spokesperson for Pentagon in a statement.
Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu states in a statement that he has informed the USA's Defense Minister Lloyd Austin about the situation. Austin has also spoken with Israel's Defense Minister Yoav Gallant in the morning.
"Austin confirmed the USA's unwavering commitment to Israel's defense against all attacks from Iran and its regional partners and proxies," says Pentagon's spokesperson.
