The Pentagon, the headquarters of the US Department of Defense, annually revises the list, which limits companies' ability to operate in the United States.
Among this year's new companies are technology giants such as Alibaba and Baidu.
A spokesperson for the Chinese Embassy in Washington tells The Wall Street Journal that the Pentagon is going too far in its interpretation of "national security" and that the list discriminates against companies.
This year's first version of the list - which also included the tech giants and BYD - was published in February, but was withdrawn ahead of the summit between Xi Jinping and Donald Trump in May.
A Pentagon spokesperson tells the business newspaper that the list was taken down for review and updating.
