A patient at a hospital in the Jönköping region was found lifeless with extensive bleeding. The region's investigation found that the patient's supervision had been broken.

The patient sought emergency care for dizziness and pain and was admitted for treatment in the evening. Later that night, the patient was found lifeless with extensive bleeding after a venous catheter became dislodged.

The region notes that supervision of the patient had been delayed due to a high patient flow during the evening in question.

The case has now been handed over to the Inspectorate for Health and Social Care (Ivo) in accordance with Lex Maria.
