Actress Pamela Anderson would like to change her last name to Hyytiäinen, she says in an interview with Vogue Scandinavia according to Hufvudstadsbladet.

"Sometimes I don't want to be Pamela Anderson. I want to be Pamela Hyytiäinen. I would like to change my name, but they won't let me," she says.

She doesn't explain exactly who "they" are, but according to Vogue she says it all in a light-hearted tone.

But the ties to Finland are very real.

Her family has roots in Finland, but when her great-grandfather emigrated to Canada in the early 1900s, he changed his last name to Anderson.

The desire to change back to the old name stems from the relationship with her grandfather Herman, who is described as a lumberjack and poet.

He was the closest person to me in my life.

As a child, she learned a little Finnish to impress her grandfather, but he passed away when she was eleven.

"He lost a bit of his cool," she says.
