Israeli settlers attacked Palestinians harvesting olives in an area north of Nablus, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry in the West Bank and the mayor of the village of Burqa.
“Clashes broke out between young men from the village and settlers before (Israeli) occupation forces intervened and opened fire on the Palestinians,” said Mayor Ammar Salah.
The man killed was identified as a 44-year-old member of the Palestinian Authority security forces.
In a comment to AFP, the Israeli military said the incident was being investigated further.
