When AFC Eskilstuna defeated IFK Stocksund 5-4 at home in the top division of football last weekend, the away team scored three own goals, one of which received extra attention.
The Swedish Football Association chose to take a closer look at the match, but now the association's integrity officer, Johan Claesson, tells SVT that the incident will not be investigated for suspected match-fixing.
The own goal by Stocksund that gave AFC a 5-1 lead was a display of poor defensive work by two players, considering they play in the country's third-highest division. First, the goalkeeper dropped the ball and let it roll past him towards the goal. Near the goal line, a teammate appeared and managed to push the ball into their own net.
