Just over a week after announcing that 1,000 employees in Skellefteå were given notice of termination, thousands of jobs are available at battery giant Northvolt via the Swedish Public Employment Service's website.
Folkbladet, which was the first to report on this on Tuesday, has contacted Northvolt regarding the advertisements without receiving a response. According to the newspaper, there are 97 advertisements posted, which include a total of 1,443 positions. Some of the advertisements are older.
Last Monday, economically crisis-stricken Northvolt announced that a total of 1,600 people, of which 1,000 in Skellefteå, 400 in Västerås, and 200 in Stockholm, are at risk of losing their jobs. Several union representatives have warned that the number may be higher. Negotiations between the parties are ongoing.
