The police have struck against a number of massage parlors in the Gothenburg area in an operation against sex trade. According to the police, the operation resulted in around ten police reports of suspected pimping.
"This week's operation shows that anyone who mediates or buys sexual services in Western Sweden can never feel safe without risking being caught and prosecuted", says Stefan Adamsson, the police coordinator for human trafficking in Region West, in a comment.
The Tax Agency, the Work Environment Authority, the Equality Ombudsman, as well as the environmental and health protection administration and the social services administration of Gothenburg City also participated in the work.
