Several countries in the Middle East have been hit by attacks from Iran in the past 24 hours. For example, the United Arab Emirates reported that 137 missiles and 209 drones entered its territory.
The owner of the international airport in the capital Abu Dhabi said in a statement that an "incident" resulted in "one Asian citizen dead and seven injured." Previously, four people were injured at Dubai airport.
At the same time, several fires have broken out in Dubai as a result of attacks. For example, the world-famous luxury hotel Burj al-Arab was hit by a downed drone in the evening, causing a small fire. Buildings and people on the artificial island of Palm Jumeirah were also reportedly damaged.
There are also reports of fires in a port area in Dubai where US warships normally dock.
Authorities in neighboring Qatar said at least twelve drones and 65 missiles were fired at the country on Saturday, resulting in eight injuries.
All Gulf states, with the exception of Oman, have so far reported that they have been subjected to some form of attack by Iran, according to AFP. Oman has in recent months been mediating between the US and Iran.
