The Olympics in Milan and Cortina feel far away for the Swedish men's alpine skiers.
The form and performances have not been in line with what we require, said Fredrik Joulamo, chairman of the Swedish Olympic Committee (SOK), earlier this week.
In the World Cup competitions in Adelboden, Switzerland, Kristoffer Jakobsen made another attempt to show some form ahead of the championship.
Then the 31-year-old sustained a bad cut and was forced out in the first run.
Sweden's Olympic squad now looks to be without any male alpine skiers, and a third straight Olympics for Jakobsen now feels distant.
I would think that would be really sad and I think they would feel the same way. We want to send men's piste skiers - but we also have a mission, and it is based on our assessment that the capacity for a top-twelve result exists, Joulamo also said.
