Swiss dominance at the top, with three Swiss on the podium. Marco Odermatt took the win ahead of Alexis Monney and Stefan Rogentin. Olympic champion Franjo von Allmen had to settle for sixth place.
Felix Monsén finished 2.22 seconds behind the winner.
The Olympic selection attracted attention. Monsén was left out of the squad, even though a place in the team competition, potentially with slalom skier Kristoffer Jakobsen, could have been an exciting Swedish option.
The situation was no less notable when Sweden gave up an Olympic spot, which it later tried to reclaim. By then it was already too late - the spot had gone to Germany.
