Tre Kronor will make their Olympic debut in Milan on February 11, but the injury list is starting to get long for national team captain Sam Hallam.
The latest addition to the list is young center Leo Carlsson. When Anaheim beat Dallas 3-1 on Wednesday night local time in Sweden, the 21-year-old was missing from the lineup because of a lower-body injury. The club announced this on X without stating when he might be back.
Carlsson has accounted for 44 points (18 goals/26 assists) in as many games this season.
On Tuesday it was also announced that star defenseman Erik Karlsson will be out for at least two weeks. The Pittsburgh player, however, believes the Olympics should not be in any danger.
"No, damn it. I'll be back in good time before we go to the Olympics," he told Expressen.
The Olympic-qualified quartet Gabriel Landeskog, Victor Hedman, Joel Eriksson Ek and Philip Broberg are already out.
