The best way to get an insight into the stars' Olympic lives? Maybe through TikTok - where the athletes offer training clips, show off medals and joke with teammates. "I've gotten a very good response," says Swedish mogul skier Rasmus Stegfeldt.

Dutch figure skating star Jutta Leerdam has been a success both on the ice and on social media at the Olympics.

Leerdam has over three million followers and is in a relationship with American influencer Jake Paul. In her TikTok feed, she mixes workout clips with personal posts. She also shows off her two medals from the Olympics (gold and silver).

Behind the scenes in the Olympic Village

Even Swedish athletes have embraced the trend on the platform.

Olympic debutant Rasmus Stegfeldt has 193,000 followers on TikTok. He has offered a behind-the-scenes look at Olympic life in Livigno.

"I've never been to the Olympics before and I'm really curious about how everything looks and how it works. I felt people would want to see and get an insight into what it's like to be an Olympic athlete in the Olympic Village. Because it's so damn special," says Stegfeldt.

The idea was simple: document everything.

"My goal was actually just to film exactly what we do, a little "behind the scenes"."

The response from the clips has been good.

"It's been absolutely insane, actually. I've gotten a lot of great feedback and a lot of new people who have found me and think it's fun."

"This is my way of getting this lifestyle going too, I'm investing in my social media. So of course I'll continue. I'm more excited than ever," says Stegfeldt.

“Look how important I am”

Ice hockey star William Nylander has around 32,000 followers and has published videos about his accommodation and flight from the US to Italy, among other things.

In one of Nylander's clips, he was jokingly mocked by teammate Rasmus Andersson when he boarded a plane to Italy with a film crew.

"Look how important I am," Andersson said to Nylander in the clip.

For curling star Isabella Wranå, a gold medalist in mixed doubles, TikTok has become a way to reach out far beyond the Olympic bubble. Her clips have been widely shared in the US and a post was featured on the show "Good Sports" with comedians Kevin Hart and Kenan Thompson.
