Oil Demand Surpasses Expectations for 2026, Says IEA

Demand for oil in 2026 is estimated at 104.6 million barrels per day by the Paris-based International Energy Agency IEA. This is an increase compared to the previous forecast, which was 104.4 million barrels per day.

At the same time, IEA is adjusting the calculation of this year's demand for oil to 103.9 million from previously 103.7 million barrels per day.

Last year, the demand was 103.1 million barrels per day.

The supply of oil is estimated to be 103.2 million barrels per day in 2026, of which 70.4 million are estimated to come from countries that are not part of the oil cartel Opec.
