After the 1–2 loss to Switzerland on penalties, a victory in regular time was required for Tre Kronor women to win the four-nation tournament in Ängelholm.
But Mira Hallin's 1–0 goal in the second period was Sweden's only one.
Finland equalized just five minutes later and was three points closer than Sweden in the third period. But despite Finland's huge advantage and a 33–14 shot advantage to Finland, Sweden managed to take the game to overtime.
Once there, Finland was hotter and Elisa Holopainen decided after 52 seconds.
I think it's an even match with chances on both sides. It goes back and forth all the time. A decision in extra time reflects the match, says Hanna Thuvik to SVT.
We have chances all the time and we have to press the shots. At the same time, Ebba (Svensson Träff) does a very good job in goal and saves us in many moments. But we are still missing goals going forward.
Tre Kronor women will travel to Finland in December for another four-nation tournament before the Olympics in Milan next year.
