Rapper Eminem stepped into the political arena on Tuesday, when he held a short speech at a campaign meeting for the Democrats' Kamala Harris in his hometown of Detroit.
I think it's important to use your voice. So I encourage everyone to go out and vote, said Eminem, a long-time critic of the former president and Republican presidential candidate, Donald Trump.
He then presented the former US President Barack Obama, who stepped onto the stage to the tunes of Eminem's song "Lose yourself". Obama jokingly said his palms were sweaty – a reference to the song – and then rapped a few lines himself.
The Democrats hope that the star-studded performance, which takes place just a few days before early voting begins in Michigan, will increase enthusiasm among voters.
Earlier on Tuesday, Obama was in the swing state of Wisconsin, where he participated in another campaign meeting. He then said that Trump is "crazier" now than he was in 2016.
We know that this election is going to be close. It's going to be close here in Wisconsin, it's going to be close across the country, said Obama.
