"It feels good to go into the break like this," Nylander told media on site after the match, Aftonbladet reports.

It initially appeared that Pittsburgh took a 1–0 lead after just over seven minutes of play, but the goal was ruled out because Pittsburgh player Justin Brazeau pushed into Toronto goalie Joseph Woll's shin guard before the puck entered the net.

The first goal that really counted was scored by Nylander when he brought the puck around and behind goalie Stuart Skinner's skates.

Nice collaboration

Just over three minutes later, he played in his clubmate Matias Maccellis' 2-1 goal.

In the third period, fine Swedish cooperation led to another goal for Toronto, when Nylander and Oliver Ekman-Larsson both got an assist when Maxi Domi put the puck in the goal.

Nylander scored the last goal of the match on an empty net. The match ended 6–3.

I think we've played better in recent games and created a lot without getting the puck in, so it was nice that it loosened up now. He says.

And Toronto coach Craig Berube agrees.

"It was fun to see Willy do what he did tonight," he said, according to nhl.com.

Punished for big mistakes

However, it is a heavy loss for Pittsburgh, according to Swedish defense star Erik Karlsson.

"We didn't play a bad game," Karlsson said, according to nhl.com.

We were only punished when we made big mistakes, and that happens sometimes when you play against a good team.

William Nylander has already been selected for Tre Kronor's Olympic team that will play in Milan in February, along with Adrian Kempe, Gabriel Landeskog and Lucas Raymond.
