Against Canada in the first match, Sweden caught up two two-goal deficits and earned a point.
Against Finland, it was rather two lost points since Tre Kronor led with both 1–0 and 3–2.
We play too much on the outside, we need to get in more on goal and create chances, says Nylander.
Mika Zibanejad, the 1–0 scorer, lacked attack mentality from his team.
We could have done a better job and been a bit more straightforward. When we get into the zone and take some time, they manage to set up, he says.
"Fighting and battling"
Finland came from a 1–6 loss to the USA and Zibanejad was not surprised by their strong play in their own zone.
They fight and battle and play tight defensively, and it was no surprise considering they let in six goals against the USA. We don't reach the level more than occasionally.
After the promising performance against Canada, he had hoped for more.
Based on what we showed against Canada, I had hoped we would take another step in the game. But it becomes cramped, looking for each other too much. We needed to be a bit more straightforward, he says.
"Damn frustrating"
Zibanejad was one of the better players in the Swedish team, played 21 minutes, had six shots on goal, and handed out three tackles.
My own performance is not something I think about after a loss. I had a new opportunity in the extension today that I could have done something better with. It's damn frustrating to lose, he says.
