Norwegian speed skater Fredrik Møller fell ill during the first downhill training session ahead of the Olympics and had to be taken to a hospital by helicopter.

Møller fell on a bend where the surface was bumpy. He slid down the slope and was caught by the safety net.

After examination at the hospital, it was determined that his shoulder had been dislocated. Møller did not suffer any other injuries in the fall, but he will not start in Saturday's downhill race in Bormio.

"So we'll see if it's realistic to start in super-G, but we have to evaluate that on an ongoing basis," said national team doctor Trond Floberghagen to NRK.

It was the second time this winter that Fredrik Møller had a bad fall in a downhill race. Just before Christmas, he crashed in the Val Gardena downhill race. He escaped with severe bruising and two knocked-out teeth.
