Norwegian freeskiing talent William Bostadløkken was left paralyzed after a fall during training. "I dream of being able to ski again," he wrote on Instagram.

During training in Steamboat in the USA, 20-year-old William Bostadløkken fell so badly that he suffered several fractures, including in his back.

He underwent surgery in Denver and has now been flown home to Norway for continued treatment.

"The operation was successful, but I was paralyzed from the injury site (between the fifth and sixth thoracic vertebrae) downward," he writes.

"I dream of being able to ski again one day. It's what I love most in the world; it's what I live for. It will be the toughest challenge I've ever had to face, and there's no guarantee that it will be successful."

Bostadløkken was part of the national development team, and in November was selected for the World Cup slopestyle competition in Stubai, which was canceled.
