US President Donald Trump took credit for FIFA's decision to let American World Cup star Folarin Balogun play in the round of 16 against Belgium, despite receiving a red card in the previous match.
"We all know that this verdict was influenced by external forces and was not procedurally correct. Our leader within FIFA (President Gianni Infantino) must be able to say that this was a mistake," Klaveness told the newspaper.
Klaveness plans, provided she receives support from the board, to add the matter to the NFF's previous notification of the FIFA Peace Prize to the US President.
"When you bend the rules in this way, you end up on a slippery slope that puts the entire sport at risk. It's a big concern for football when you compromise the fundamental rules of the game," Klaveness says.
TT has contacted the Swedish Football Association, which refers to the statements made by association chairman Simon Åström in connection with the lifting of Balogun's suspension. At the time, Åström was critical of the decision, saying that it was about "the integrity of the sport" and that he had contacted FIFA for an explanation.
