The announcement comes after the International Criminal Court (ICC) on Thursday issued an arrest warrant against Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, as well as against Hamas leader Mohammed Dayf.
If Netanyahu or anyone else against whom the ICC has issued an arrest or extradition order were to come to Norway, we would, in line with our international law obligations, apprehend and extradite the person in question, says State Secretary Andreas Kravik (Ap) to TV2.
The ICC's decision has been both praised and criticized. Sweden has not wanted to answer the question of whether Netanyahu would be arrested if he came here.
On Thursday, Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard (M) stated that "Sweden and the EU support the court's important work and uphold its independence and integrity".
