According to Per-Willy Amundsen, a member of parliament for the Progress Party, the commission's mandate means going back several decades to examine "the relationship between Norwegian authorities and extremist organizations, foundations and networks in which Norway has been involved," writes NRK .
"It is of particular importance that the review goes all the way back to the process that led to the Oslo Accords in 1993," says Amundsen in a press release.
The decision was made after the Epstein files showed that top Norwegian figures, including Crown Princess Mette-Marit and former Prime Minister Thorbjørn Jagland, had close contact with the convicted pedophile, who died in prison in 2019.
