Norway's Defense Minister Tore Sandvik (Ap) presented the agreement at a press conference in Bodø together with his British colleague John Healey on Thursday afternoon.
We are now facing many similar security challenges in a time of great uncertainty, says Sandvik.
Among other things, Norway and the UK will train more on joint military operations. In this way, they will strengthen their defense capabilities at sea, on land, and in the air, according to Sandvik.
Another point is to secure critical infrastructure on the seabed to detect and prevent sabotage.
Russia has for many years maintained and developed military capabilities that can strike Western infrastructure at deep water. We must assume that this type of capability can be used against Norwegian infrastructure in a more tense situation or conflict, says Sandvik.
