The project Beredskapslyftet was launched in conjunction with the battery manufacturer Northvolt's bankruptcy in March this year. The purpose is to help former employees from third countries to get new jobs through a digital job center where they are matched with possible employers.
In total, it concerns approximately 1,400 job seekers who must find new jobs before the end of the summer.
The meager result is due, according to Beredskapslyftet's co-founder Fredrik Hillelson, to the fact that recruitment can take a long time, but also to inadequate Swedish language skills and difficulties in finding housing.
Around 70 percent of the applicants live in Skellefteå, while the majority of the 120 employers we have contact with are not located there, he says to Di.
Beyond the two million kronor that the project has already received in funding, Hillelson now hopes for another million to be able to continue over the summer.
