It underscores the skeptical stance of President Donald Trump's administration towards measures to stop global warming.
“President Trump will not jeopardize our country’s economic and national security to pursue vague climate goals that kill other countries,” White House spokesman Taylor Rogers said in a statement to The Guardian.
Rogers emphasizes that Trump's energy policy is about "common sense" with a focus on "liquid gold" (oil), energy infrastructure, and bringing down costs for households and businesses.
COP30 begins on November 10 in Belém, Brazil, and runs until November 21.
