Clase is currently Sweden's UN ambassador in New York and has previously, among other things, been a foreign policy advisor to the Moderate Party and State Secretary to former Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt from 2006 to 2008. She has also represented Sweden as ambassador in Helsinki and London.
Nicola Clase succeeds former Speaker and former Social Democratic foreign policy spokesperson Urban Ahlin. She will begin her new position in Washington, DC, in the fall.
