In addition to his experience as a leader for several large companies, IFK Göteborg's new club director Nicklas Lauwell has a background in football. He has been a referee and has also held positions within both the Swedish Football Association and the elite clubs' interest group, Swedish Elite Football.
"He has worked in fast-paced environments, with clear responsibility for results and many stakeholders, which are qualities that are important at IFK Göteborg," says club chairman Magnus Nilsson in a statement.
Lauwell will take office sometime during the summer and replace Håkan Mild, who announced last fall that he was stepping down after five years in the position.
