New rules - the invasive species you are not allowed to sell or grow

This applies to, among other things, Canadian goldenrod, flowering lupine and wild rose.

The species are now classified as invasive, which means that they outcompete other species and damage ecosystems.

To the extent that they are still being sold, they must now be removed from the shelves. As a private individual, you do not have to dig them up in your garden - but you are responsible for ensuring that they do not spread further. And if you do dig them up - don't forget that they must be taken to the recycling centre in closed bags.

Among the 34 invasive species, nine are terrestrial. The rest are so-called aquatic species, such as the American lobster.

Here is Sweden's national list of invasive alien species:
