The masses were dumped on the industrial area east of E6 and are said to have overloaded the ground and triggered the landslide that completely destroyed the motorway. This is shown by the Accident Investigation Board in its report – which ST Newspaper has taken part of.

However, the Accident Investigation Board's investigation manager Johan Gustafsson says to P4 West that it is only a first draft of the report that has leaked, and that the results may change.

The report is now out for review, and is expected to be completed in mid-March.

The landslide, at E6 near Stenungsund, occurred during the night between September 22 and 23, 2023. Several cars and a bus got stuck in the landslide area when the ground began to move. Three people were lightly injured.
