The Dow Jones industrial average fell 0.3 percent while the broad-based S&P 500 index rose 0.3 percent and the tech-heavy Nasdaq composite index rose 0.9 percent, according to CNBC.
Thus, the S&P 500 and Nasdaq closed at a new record level for the second day in a row.
Apple's report after the stock market closed on Thursday evening was well-received by the market. On Friday, the stock rose 3.3 percent.
During the week as a whole, the Dow climbed 0.6 percent, the S&P 500 1 percent and the Nasdaq 1.1 percent.
April was the best month for the S&P 500 since November 2020, up over 10 percent. The Nasdaq had its best month since April 2020, up just over 15 percent.
The Dow rose over 7 percent for its strongest month since November 2024.
