"It's no joke that we have serious problems. We've brought in a lot of people who are working hard on this," press officer Mikael Andersson told TT at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
The technical problems, which were discovered early this morning, mean that some e-services are not working. It is not possible to park vehicles, make changes of ownership or take the theory test for a driving license for those doing it for the first time.
There is no forecast for when the problems might be resolved.
"No, unfortunately I don't have that," Andersson said.
Similar problems have occurred several times this year, in February and earlier in May. According to Andersson, it is still too early to say whether the incidents can be linked to each other.
Andersson said the agency's leadership will gather for an emergency meeting on Sunday to deal with the situation.
"We take this very seriously," Andersson said.
At present, there is nothing to indicate that the problems are due to external influences, according to the Swedish Transport Agency.
