At the same time, Russia attacked with up to 200 drones. Some of the projectiles were of North Korean type, according to reports.
"The enemy continues with terror. Once again, the energy sector across the country is under massive attack", writes Energy Minister Herman Halusjtjenko on social media.
Halusjtjenko says that all forces are now working to maintain the energy supply.
From the Russian side, they say that the attacks were a response to Ukraine's use of American long-range weapons.
"A comprehensive attack was carried out by the Russian armed forces against critical Ukrainian facilities for fuel and energy infrastructure", writes the Russian Defense Ministry on Telegram.
The extent of the damage is currently unclear.
Russia has many times during the war targeted purely civilian targets, which is considered a war crime. Most recently, on November 28, the attacks temporarily cut off power to one million households.
