Air travel tax is being abolished
The air travel tax will be completely abolished on July 1. For those who buy an airline ticket for travel within Sweden, this means a reduced cost of approximately 80 kronor. Medicine becomes more expensive
Today, a person pays at most 2,900 kronor for prescription medication during a 12-month period. Now the amount is increased by 900 kronor – to 3,800 kronor – from July 1.
The staircase in the high-cost protection means that a medication cost of up to 2,000 kronor is paid in full by the individual. The amounts within the so-called high-cost staircase are also increased in each step. For a medication cost between 2,001-3,586 kronor, the patient pays 75 percent of the cost, previously it was 50 percent. For medication costs of 7,117 kronor or more, a free card applies – then the patient has paid 3,800 kronor of the amount.
Cheaper to switch fixed-rate loans
It will be cheaper to switch banks, even for those who have tied up their mortgages. Bank customers will no longer have to pay for the banks' lost interest income, instead, customers will only have to pay for the costs that arise when paying off the loan prematurely. Applies from July 1.
"Quick loan companies" are not allowed to lend
Only banks and credit market companies will be allowed to lend money to consumers, from July 1. Loan brokers, such as Lendo and Compricer, must apply for a bank license to continue their business.
Increased compensation from the unemployment insurance fund
On August 4, the highest compensation in the unemployment insurance fund will be increased, from 1,200 kronor to 1,236 kronor during the first 100 compensation days. This corresponds to approximately 800 kronor more per month.
Housing allowance is abolished
The temporary supplementary allowance for families with children in connection with the housing allowance will be abolished from June 30.
