Another Tre Kronor player has been injured ahead of the Olympics. Minnesota defenseman Jonas Brodin has a lower-body injury that could cause problems heading into the Olympic hockey tournament, which is scheduled to begin in just under a month.

According to The Athletic, Brodin is out "week-by-week" and the injury has been bothering him for some time.

Minnesota coach John Hynes says:

It's not something that happened in a match; it's something that has been building up a bit.

However, Hynes would not say Brodin's Olympic participation is in jeopardy. The 32-year-old has participated and won World Cup bronze in both 2024 and 2025.

The defenseman missed four games in December with the same injury.

Several players selected for Tre Kronor's Olympic team have suffered injuries. Stars such as defensemen Victor Hedman and Erik Karlsson, and forwards Leo Carlsson and Brodin's Minnesota teammate Joel Eriksson Ek, are currently injured.

Tre Kronor's Olympic debut will be on February 11 against host nation Italy. The Milano-Cortina Olympics open on February 6.
