An employee at a subcontractor suffered a nosebleed on Thursday morning. According to SSAB's new procedures, the person was immediately taken to the occupational health service, Norrbottens-Kuriren reports.
In addition, work at the site was suspended.
"We have not paused all work; however, it has stopped where that particular person was working," Martin Gidlund, communications manager at SSAB, told the newspaper.
It is unclear when work can resume.
Since the beginning of the year, over 30 cases of illness have occurred at the construction site.
On April 3, work was stopped completely. According to SSAB, measurements did not show any levels above the applicable limit values, and in May, work resumed at locations where no cases have been reported.
