Earlier this month, cross-examinations with Netanyahu began in the prolonged trial, where he is accused of fraud, bribery and breach of trust during a previous term of office.
According to the court's plan, Netanyahu would be back in the witness box this week, but with reference to the security situation after the ceasefire with Iran, his office has requested to postpone it for two weeks. He received support, among other things, from US President Donald Trump, who in social media demanded that the trial be "immediately" discontinued.
The court writes that it "partially accepts the request" and cancels Netanyahu's scheduled appearances next week.
Netanyahu has several times requested to postpone the trial, which began as early as 2020.
