I say to Qatar and all nations that harbor terrorists, either you expel them or put them on trial. If you do not do so, we will do it, said Netanyahu in a speech on Wednesday at a memorial ceremony ahead of the anniversary of the terrorist attacks against the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in the Washington area on September 11, 2001.
The move comes the day after the Israeli attacks on Qatar and representatives of the terrorist-stamped Hamas who were in Doha for negotiations on a ceasefire in Gaza.
The attack and Israeli moves thereafter are met with sharp reactions – and a direct response from Qatar:
I think what Netanyahu did yesterday was to kill all hope for those who are being held hostage, said Qatar's Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin al-Thani.
Qatar's Prime Minister is to participate in an extraordinary security council meeting on Thursday about the development in the region. Ahead of the meeting, he sharpened his tone against Netanyahu, and noted that he is wanted by the International Criminal Court in The Hague (ICC).
He must be put on trial, said the Prime Minister in an interview with the American media company CNN.
