The Prime Minister emphasizes in his speech in the Israeli parliament that "the war is not over" and that Israel must continue to defend itself, reports the Times of Israel .
"You see for yourself what happens every day in Lebanon," he says, referring to the almost daily Israeli attacks against Lebanese Hezbollah.
Regarding the situation in Gaza and Israel's war against Hamas, he promises that the terrorist organization will be disarmed.
Gaza will be demilitarized – the easy way or the hard way. But it will happen.
He says that the country's military operation in Gaza, along with US diplomatic pressure on the outside world to isolate Hamas, brought home the hostage who was still alive. But most importantly, Israel did not give in to international pressure and capitulated, he says.
"If we had done as they wanted, the hostages would not have come home, but worse, Hamas would have started planning for the next kidnappings," says Netanyahu.
Since the ceasefire between Israel and Hamas began on October 10 this year, 241 people had been killed in Gaza by the weekend, according to the Hamas-controlled Ministry of Health in Gaza, whose figures are considered credible by the UN and a number of independent experts.
Israel and Hezbollah signed a ceasefire last November, but Israel has continued to bomb targets in Lebanon on a regular basis. So far in November, Israel has killed 15 members of the Iran-backed militia, according to the country's military.
