The semifinal is almost decided already before the return match at Gamla Ullevi in Gothenburg on Tuesday.
But there is something that bothers with Friday's 0-4 loss at La Rosaleda stadium, say the players in the Swedish football national team.
It's really hard to put words on the match, because I don't think 0-4 reflects the match picture. It's hard to put your finger on exactly what went wrong, because I think we stand up well at times, says Swedish center back Nathalie Björn.
Sweden started confidently in the first national team match under new national team manager Tony Gustavsson. But with only four training sessions together before the match, it was perhaps too much to believe that the playing idea would be perfect already now.
Three goals on three shots
The Spanish stars exploited the Swedish mistakes mercilessly and had decided the match already before the break, when it was 3-0.
The feeling is disappointment of course. I think we have a good feeling when we enter the match, says right-back Johanna Rytting Kaneryd.
Just like Björn, she doesn't think the result is in line with the effort.
If you look at the first half, they have three shots on goal and make three goals. It's clear that it's frustrating. I think we have a clear match picture, but if you give them too much time and relax, it takes just one second, and they're just too skilled.
A new national team manager and partly new playing ideas mean a challenge, she says. On the other hand, Spain also had a new national team manager in Sonia Bermúdez.
I think Tony has been enormously clear in the playing idea and the way of playing, but it's not an easy challenge to face Spain after just four days. But I think you can see today in moments that there is potential and an idea. But we don't fully complete it.
Positive after the break
If there's one thing the Swedish players should take with them, it's a significantly better second half, says Tony Gustavsson.
In half an hour in the second half, we're clearly better than in the first. We manage to keep them away from our half of the field for longer periods, and we're better in our duel game in the second half, says Gustavsson.
Then it hurts a bit with that 4-0 goal (in stoppage time in the second half). It felt unnecessary considering the second half.
