NASA's rocket that will carry the first astronauts to the Moon since 1972 has begun being transported to the launch pad, the BBC reports.

The transport from the manufacturing building at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, in the southeastern United States began on Saturday afternoon, Swedish time, and is expected to take about twelve hours. However, the actual launch will not take place until February 6 at the earliest.

The Artemis II mission will last ten days and take the four astronauts – three Americans and one Canadian – beyond the far side of the Moon and break the previous record for the farthest distance from Earth for a manned spaceflight, according to CNN.

However, the astronauts will not land on the Moon. The Artemis program's lunar lander, manufactured by Elon Musk's company SpaceX, is not yet complete.
