This year's edition of "Musikhjälpen" has reached its goal. 74.6 million kronor was collected - a new record. In the end, all the nonsense and stupidity was not in vain. It was actually the right thing to do. We come out with our pride intact, says Hampus Hedström.

Since December 1, program hosts Linnéa Wikblad, Assia Dahir and Hampus Hedström have been locked in a cage at Stora Torget in Karlstad.

Constant guests, lack of sleep and an abundance of impressions have left their mark on Hampus Hedström now that he has been released from his cage.

There are few times in my life when I don't have words, this is one of them. There are so many emotions. Both sad, proud, happy and euphoric feelings. To have them at the same time is strange. I think I'm happy, he tells TT.

“Have cared”

It's been eight years since the previous record was set – in 2017 in Umeå it reached 74.4 million kronor. So now it's a bit better.

The theme this year was "All children have the right to go to school".

Hampus Hedström says that he feels an "indescribable gratitude" towards those who shared their life stories during the week and that he is delighted with the 1.2 million engagements that have been received.

They join because they understand, they care, they get involved on an individual level. That's probably the biggest and most beautiful thing I take with me.

Beer sausage and sleepy morning

Is there anything you won't miss?

"There probably isn't one actually. I've discovered that soup is delicious. I've discovered that you can get by on three hours of sleep," says Hedström, but adds:

Absolutely – waking up to extremely loud live artists blaring bass, I won't miss that.

The first thing he did when he got out was eat a beer sausage. The second thing he wants to do as a free man is sleep a whole night without setting the alarm.

And I'm going to miss the hotel breakfast on purpose.
