On Friday evening, air traffic was stopped indefinitely after an alarm about drones being spotted. About 6,500 passengers were forced to spend the night at the airport.
Munich Airport reduces air traffic every evening between 10 pm and midnight, when it is completely closed. Traffic usually resumes at 05 in the morning, but Saturday morning's flights are thus delayed.
At around 7 am on Saturday morning, the airport announced that traffic was "gradually" back on.
Passengers are urged to contact their airlines.
Also on Thursday evening, traffic at Munich Airport was stopped after an alarm about drones. This happens in light of the similar events at airports in Denmark, Norway, and Poland in recent weeks, which have all canceled flights due to unknown drones in the airspace. Suspicion has been directed at Russia, which has denied responsibility.
