Thomas Tuchel officially took over as England's national team manager in January.
On Friday, he selected his first squad, and several unexpected players were picked.
Newcastle's 32-year-old centre-back Dan Burn makes his debut in the national team, and Marcus Rashford returns after his performances on loan to Aston Villa.
Jordan Henderson is also back. Henderson has not been called up to the national team since autumn 2023.
During that time, the 34-year-old has had a six-month stint in Saudi Arabia followed by a move to Ajax.
Jordan embodies everything we want from this team. He brings leadership, personality, and energy to every team, says Thomas Tuchel.
Tuchel has also called up 34-year-old Kyle Walker, on loan from Manchester City to Milan, who has been dropped from recent gatherings.
Injured Reese James also gets another chance.
Besides Dan Burn, Arsenal's young talent Myles Lewis-Skelly, 18, is also selected for the national team for the first time.
Jack Grealish, Ben White, Harry Maguire, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Morgan Gibbs-White, and Conor Gallagher are some players who either have injury problems or have been dropped from the gathering.
England plays World Championship qualifiers against Albania and Latvia during the international break.
