After the long shutdown of the American government, in the shadow of the budget dispute, new figures on the state of the labor market finally came out.
New jobs outside the agricultural sector increased by 64,000 in November. Economists had expected an average of 50,000 more jobs.
In October, 105,000 jobs were lost, which was during the same period that the US government was closed. Here, forecasts were for a loss of 25,000.
Unemployment in November was 4.6 percent, the highest figure in four years, compared to an expected 4.5 percent.
