The outbreak in the Southeast Asian country has been ongoing since March 15. More than 900 cases have been confirmed among more than 7,500 suspected infections.
Bangladeshi authorities are taking emergency measures and launching a major vaccination campaign in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), the UN children's agency UNICEF, and the vaccine partnership Gavi.
On Sunday, vaccines began being given to children aged 6 months to five years in 18 hard-hit areas, with the goal of expanding the effort nationwide.
