The debate was broadcast live on the Riksdag's website, on Sveriges Radio's P1 and on SVT Forum. Preliminary figures from SVT also show that almost ten times as many people watched the broadcast on SVT Forum compared with the last party leadership debate held in the Riksdag.
However, compared with SVT's most recent Agenda debate in October, which was watched by 635,000, this broadcast had significantly fewer viewers - about a third as many, reports P3 Nyheter.
Exact figures on how many people watched Wednesday night are not yet available.
