"The interest rate adjustment is mainly due to the fact that market interest rates have risen, which has led to increased borrowing costs for the bank," SBAB said in a press release.
SEB and Skandia also raised the variable interest rate by 0.15 percentage points on Tuesday, according to SEB's website and a press release from Skandiabanken.
The announcement comes after a number of other major players in the mortgage market - such as Danske Bank, Swedbank and Nordea - raised variable mortgage rates to a similar extent in recent days.
