The state-owned bank SBAB and Handelsbanken are lowering their mortgage rates.
SBAB is lowering its variable mortgage rate by 0.20 percentage points, resulting in a new list rate of 3.42 percent. Handelsbanken is lowering its rate by 0.25 percentage points to a list rate of 4.29 percent.
Earlier in the week, several other banks lowered their variable mortgage rates by 0.25 percentage points, following the Swedish Central Bank's lowering of the repo rate by 0.25 percentage points to 2.25 percent.
The banks' so-called list rates should be taken with a grain of salt. The actual average rates, which banks are required to report on their websites, that customers pay are often much lower.
